Condition:
framed: 26? by 34 in.; 68.3 by 86.4 cm. The panel is uncradled, stable, and beveled on all four edges, although only faintly along the reverse of the left edge. The painting reads well beneath a yellowed varnish, and the paint surface is stable. Many of the details throughout appear well preserved. There are some small, scattered spots of restoration somewhat visible to the naked eye, as they have slightly discolored, although these are not distracting. Some frame abrasion is visible at the edges, particularly along the upper edge. Inspection under UV reveals a thick, streaky varnish that fluoresces unevenly and impedes some inspection. UV does not reveal much recent restoration, except for one thin line of restoration near the upper edge, right of center. Offered in a decoratively carved giltwood frame.
